Hatchet Throwing

Learn the basics of how to throw a hatchet, then practice on outdoor wooden targets. All equipment is provided and closed-toed shoes are required for this activity. Let the challenge begin!

The hatchet throwing targets are located temporarily in the field across from the Visitor Center. Check-in is at the targets in the field and we recommend being there 5 minutes prior to the scheduled time to meet with the guide.

It is often necessary to walk through grass and other vegetation to retrieve hatchets, so we recommend spraying clothing and shoes with an insect and tick repellent, especially during the spring and summer months. Please dress appropriately for the expected weather conditions and consider bringing a bottle of water and a snack.

Expect the activity to take approximately an hour.

Please be considerate and respectful of other people who may be participating in the activity.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans can change when on vacation and that weather is not always ideal for outdoor activities. Because of this, we offer the option of canceling reservations for a full refund up to 24 hours in advance of the scheduled activity by following the instructions in the confirmation email. We are unable to offer refunds for late arrivals or cancellations after the 24-hour window.

Hatchet Throwing is offered rain or shine but may be cancelled due to high winds, lightning, or other conditions determined to be unsafe. Should this happen, we will either provide a full refund for the class or an option to reschedule.
