This isn’t a little rapid with big name. Amicalola is 729 feet of vertically cascading water, making it the third highest cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi River. Feel the mist and hear the thundering rush of the water as it falls to the base of the mountain.

Enjoy another fine meal and great night’s sleep because you will need all your energy to complete the GPS scavenger hunt the next day. Channel your inner explorer and use the provided GPS device to track down different items in the park, like a real pioneer, but with modern technology of course.

Day four you may need a break, so relax in the shade at the reflection pond located at the bottom of the waterfalls or take a hike at your own pace on one of the 10 trails through the immensely beautiful state park. For a more serious hike, take the 8-mile Approach Trail to the southernmost terminus of the Appalachian Trail at Springer Mountain.
